Entry to School Buildings

Entry to school buildings is only allowed via the main entrance door except for staff and students who may use other designated entrances while arriving at the beginning and exiting at the end of the school day. 

All exterior doors will be locked to the outside at all times, exclusive of: 

• The beginning of school. Entry is via predetermined exterior doors which are monitored by staff members.  

• The end of school. Entry is via predetermined exterior doors which are monitored by staff members. 

• Schools are completely enclosed via a fence and gate system that limits access through the main entrance. 

Staff and students should not open any outside entry doors to allow visitor access. Anyone requesting entrance should be directed to enter the school via the main entrance. 

ID Badges and Visitor Passes 

All Plainview ISD employees will be issued a photo identification badge (ID). All staff must have their ID clearly visible while on school premises. Any staff member who cannot present an ID must receive a a temporary staff ID. All temporary staff and volunteers must sign in and receive a temporary ID when entering the building each day. 

ALL visitors to the school must sign in and wear a visitor's pass while on school premises.
