Plainview ISD values strong communication with members of the community, including parents and other district stakeholders.
The Media & Communications Department uses a variety of methods to strengthen and promote communication including printed and electronic newsletters, information shared at committee meetings and with community groups, School Messenger notification system for families and staff, special events highlighting the district and its schools, the Plainview ISD website, social media, publications, and local media including radio, cable television and the Plainview Herald.
In addition to coordinating many of these communication methods, the Media & Communication Office serves as the point of contact for media requests.

Open Records Request
Texas Government Code, Chapter 552, provides the public with access to government records, and an officer for public information and/or the officer’s agent may not ask why the records are being requested. All government information is presumed to be available to the public for inspection. Certain exceptions may apply to the disclosure of the information. Governmental bodies shall promptly release requested information that is not confidential by law, either constitutional, statutory, or by judicial decision, or information for which an exception to disclosure has not been sought.
Procedures to Obtain Information:
Submit a request by mail, fax, email, or in person according to the governmental body's reasonable procedures.
Include enough description and detail about the information requested to enable the governmental body to accurately identify and locate the information requested.
Cooperate with the governmental body's reasonable efforts to clarify the type or amount of information requested.
