Attention Plainview Junior High Basketball Parents:

As we continue to monitor conditions, we have had multiple accidents reported throughout our community and on the interstate into Plainview. Therefore, we are going to designate today a snow day, and we will resume classes, tomorrow. Stay warm and be safe!

Due to staff and students traveling to school from out of town, PISD will have a late start. This will give us an opportunity to see if the roads in and out of Plainview will clear up by 10. Staff report by 9:30 and students by 10.

🎉 Celebrating Tim Kelley - PHS Band Director! 🎶 Yesterday, we had the honor of hosting a farewell retirement party for Tim Kelley, our beloved PHS Band Director. For years, Mr. Kelley has inspired and shaped the lives of countless students through his passion for music and dedication to the band program he was a director for. We wish him all the best as he enters this exciting new chapter. Thank you, Mr. Tim Kelley, for everything you’ve done for PHS and The Powerhouse of the Plains! 🐾🎶

🎉 Exciting News for Bulldog Nation! 🎉 Plainview ISD is proud to announce that Coach Wyatt Martinez has been officially named Head Football Coach of the Plainview Bulldogs at tonight’s Board Meeting! After serving as interim head coach during the 2024 season and demonstrating exceptional leadership, vision, and dedication to our program, Coach Martinez has earned the full confidence of President Soto, Dr. Sanchez, and the Board of Trustees. When asked about this milestone, Coach Martinez shared: 💬 "Being a head football coach has always been a dream of mine. I come from a coaching family, and I’ve been around it my entire life. I am so thankful for this opportunity to lead the Bulldogs and continue building this program for the future." ________________________________________ 🏈 Coach Martinez Vision for Bulldog Football: 1️.Building Men Through Football: Coach Martinez is passionate about shaping young athletes into outstanding adults. Starting in 6th-grade pre-athletics, he envisions his players graduating not just as skilled athletes, but as exceptional husbands, fathers, co-workers, and citizens. 2️. Engaging the Plainview Community: "Our mission is to reignite excitement for Bulldog Football across Plainview," Coach Martinez said. This includes player involvement in school and community events, creating a strong connection between the team and the town. 3️. Becoming Playoff Contenders Again: "We are committed to returning Bulldog Football to the playoffs and making it a yearly tradition. Her dedication to the district and her students is unmatched. She was also part of the legendary Danny Wrenn coaching legacy in girls’ basketball, leaving a lasting impact on and off the court. The Bulldog Award honors those who embody kindness, respect, and integrity in their work. Megan and Rene are perfect examples of what makes our district strong.
