Plainview High School Launches Inspiring Kindness Club, “Live to Give”
Plainview, Texas — Plainview High School is thrilled to announce the launch of its newest initiative to promote kindness and compassion: the “Live to Give” BAFP Kindness Club. This inspiring club is led by student Leticia Valle, with support from her paraprofessional Justina Moya and Texas FCCLA (Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America) Advisor Larry Garcia. Together, they are bringing a fresh wave of positivity to the school and broader community.
Leticia, a student in Intro to Culinary Arts and an active FCCLA member, is committed to leading by example. Despite being blind, she has quickly become a powerful advocate for peer kindness and inclusion, launching impactful community service projects and encouraging student engagement within district schools.
The club’s mission is to inspire kindness through simple acts that make a lasting impact. Leticia and her team have already initiated various activities, including crafting friendship bracelets, distributing kindness stickers, and creating uplifting posters and confetti jars. These activities aim to remind students that even small gestures of kindness can have a profound effect on others.
In a recent video presentation to middle school students, Leticia introduced them to the “Live to Give” club’s mission, inspiring them to join the kindness movement. Her message resonated deeply, underscoring the power of peer-led initiatives in promoting compassion.
The Plainview community is excited to welcome the “Live to Give” Kindness Club and eagerly supports their efforts to spread positivity and empathy across district schools. Leticia and her team embody what it means to be “upstanders” — individuals who actively work to make the world a better place.
A special thank you to the Be a Friend Project for providing valuable information and photos that capture the spirit and dedication of the “Live to Give” club.
Welcome, “Live to Give”! We’re excited to see the difference you’ll make.
