Plainview ISD students will soon begin taking the state STAAR test and EOCs (End of Course Exams.) As these test approach, we encourage all our students to take the necessary rest and preparation for the STAAR and EOC test. All students in grades 3-8 are mandated by the Texas Education Agency to take the test. EOCs are taken in 9th and 10th grade and possibly 11th grade. Students however, can take EOCs until their 12th grade year if they do not pass the EOC exams during 9th, 10th, and 11th grade. Successful completion of EOCs is required for a student to graduate. Exemptions for the test can only be allowed by through the ARD process (Admission Review and Dismissal) and are only available for special education students.
