Plainview ISD is partnering with the City of Plainview to celebrate the "In Plain View Community Event / National Night Out" TONIGHT! Join us for a night of fun and get to meet the people in your community. There will be plenty of fun FREE food and activities! We invite you to join us to come see what's in Plain View!



Angelo State University president, Dr. Hawkins, stopped by to visit Plainview ISD. Angelo State University is a partner that provides the vast majority of Collegiate and PHS students who take dual credit from Angelo State, tuition free university courses. Angelo State is a prime partner with Plainview Collegiate High School. Currently, collegiate and PHS students can take history and physics courses from Angelo State. Dr. Hawkins expressed a desire to expand not only courses but also tuition free opportunities for eligible collegiate and PHS students into the future. Angelo State University is a member of the Texas Tech University system, and ASU has recently been recognized with the Seal of Excelencia! This is earned by demonstrating the use of data, practice and leadership to develop programs and strategies that intentionally serve Latino students while supporting all students.


Plainview ISD has partnered with Texas Tech University to offer Chinese lessons to ALL PHS students! Classes will be held at PCHS every Monday at 4:30. Join us for activities, language learning and get help from experienced TTU instructors. The first class starts today! Besides the class, students will have monthly in-person Chinese language tutoring and culture events with the last event being held at Texas Tech University!


Don't forget! Plainview ISD will be closed next week starting Monday, October 9th through the 13th for Fall Break! Have a safe week and we will welcome everyone back on Monday, October 16th!

PHS Seniors had a chance to visit South Plains College today! Thank you to South Plains College for hosting our future graduates!





Thanks to the Rotary Club of Plainview, every 3rd grade student enrolled at Plainview Independent School District has their own dictionary. Members of the Rotary Club passed out dictionaries to students at Plainview North Elementary this afternoon.

Members of the Rotary Club of Plainview visited Central Elementary School this afternoon to pass out dictionaries to all the students in the 3rd grade. Students looked up words like candy, sat and new (or was it knew?).











Attention Plainview Families! Fall Drivers Education is now open! The cost for Drivers Ed is $260 and students are required to attend class Monday-Thursday from 6:30 a.m. - 8:00 a.m. Classes begin on October 3rd and will run through November 17th. Classes will be held at the PHS Science Hall. Limited spots available.

The Lady Bulldogs hosted Tascosa Saturday morning in the first district matchup of the season. The Lady Bulldogs led late in the first set but fell 3 sets to none.
They will be at Caprock next Saturday.

The Powerhouse of the Plains wore their new uniforms for the first time at the Bulldogs football game in Hereford on Friday.











The Plainview community showed up in force on Friday night in Hereford to see the Bulldogs take on Hereford. The Bulldogs lost 24-21 in a hard-fought contest.
The next game will be at home vs Abilene Wylie on October 6.
